EZE, SIR, GIDEON AMADI OGAZILE OMODU, JP

Ochi Ohna Ikwerre VIII (1993 - 1996)

Born March 11, 1935, in Rundele, Emohua LGA, Eze Sir Gideon A. O. Omodu was a distinguished chartered insurer and traditional ruler. Academically, he had his elementary education at St. John's (C.M.S) School Ndele, St. Luke's (C.M.S) School Emohua, and Ogbakiri Central School Okporowo (1942-1951). His secondary education was at Okrika Grammar School (1952-1956) where he passed the West African School Certificate Examination with Division One. He is a retired Chartered Insurer and the first in Rivers State to be professionally qualified as an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, London by examination.

Traditionally, he is a Knight of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, holds the title Ochi Ohna Ikwerre VIII, and is the Paramount Ruler of the Mgbuolua Community, Rundele. He served as President General of Ogbakor Ikwerre Worldwide from 1993 to 1996.

His contributions to Ogbakor Ikwerre and the Ikwerre nation were substantial. He served as General Manager of the Rivers State owned Riv Bank Insurance Company Limited, General Manager of Delta Rubber Company, Chairman of Pabod Finance and Investment Company, and Founder and Managing Director of Jubilee Insurance Company Limited. He was National President of the Old Boys' Association of Okrika Grammar School. He is married to Lady Augusta A. Omodu and blessed with four children who are contributing their quota in nation building.
